MoTeC Color Displays Loggers

C125 MoTeC Display Logger being tested with alarm shown.

MoTeC has been hard at work on their new color display. It is everything we have come to expect in terms of quality, easy to use, flexibility, and power. And, the amazingly clear color display allows everything to be clearly labeled and read even in the sun.

All dash models listed are fully functional displays and loggers.  With hundreds of channels of logging at up to 1000Hz, programmable warning messages, inputs, outputs, fuel use calculations, and OBDII compatibility** monitoring vitals is easy.

Using the internal accelerometer and a speed input (networked from an existing sensor, a new wheel speed sensor, GPS unit etc.) and a lap input (lap beacon, switch, GPS receiver etc.) you can monitor lap times, corner speeds, straight speeds, and general driver performance.  you can provide real time feedback to the driver about his progress by predicting their lap time, showing the maximum speed on the last straight or the minimum speed in the last corner.

The dashes can be networked via CAN or RS232 with 1000s of other devices to monitor or control everything from brake lights to cam shaft position. One of our favorites is warning the driver about coolant pump malfunction. When they fail and circulation stops, the temperature needle may never move until it is too late.

Previous MoTeC Display Models

MoTeC CDL3 Club Dash

CDL3 – Advanced Analysis for Any Racer

The Club dash has much of what makes MoTeC special in a more affordable package than ever before.  Perfect for track day enthusiasts, club racers, and even many pro level teams, we assume that the CDL3 will be paired with an OBDII vehicle** or aftermarket ECU.  The CDL3 is able to lower cost by limiting the number of inputs, the number of user conditions/tables, the number of warnings, maximum logging memory, and by not including advanced maths.  But trust us, most people who use a CDL3 wont notice the difference.  We don’t feel limited on the CDL3 pro teams we support!

**All 2008+ models will work, while only some from 07 and before will work.  MoTeC communicates over CAN bus, which was not mandated in OBDII until 2008.  Some cars prior to ’08 already used CAN, but not all of them.

Base $1900, Typical $2500

MoTeC SDL3 Sport Dash

SDL3 – More Control, More Inputs

The Sport dash is positioned solidly between the CDL3 and ADL3.  It has more inputs, more tables/conditions, and a larger logging memory than the CDL3, but still does not have the advanced maths of the ADL3.  It is the perfect dash for teams that have fully custom electronics and that monitor many of their vehicle parameters.   The extra logging memory is especially useful for monitoring a PDM during long races, and if you’re feeling really cramped by 16MB, 120MB logging is optional!

Base $3250, Typical $7000

MoTeC ADL3 Advanced Dash Logger

ADL3 – Ultimate Control and Analysis

The father of MoTeC dashes, the ADL3 contains all the technology MoTeC has to offer.  Advanced math, optional telemetry, up to 250MB of logging at 1000Hz, and all the user conditions/tables you could ever need.  If the goal is to win at all costs, then the ADL3 is the way to go.

Base $8500, Typical $12100

Shift Light Modules

The programmable SLM and fixed output SLM-C are almost always requested when purchasing a dash.  The cost effective SLM-C has shift lights and warning indicators programmed in, while the SLM can be configured as creatively as you can imagine.  We can’t give away our secrets, but think we’ve done some pretty cool stuff with the SLM, and our drivers think so too.
